‘Savage’ Storm belt Tigers in ‘bloodbath’

The Storm have got off to a rocketing start against the Tigers, running in five converted tries in the opening 17 minutes to be leading 30-0.

Hooker Brandon Smith continued his incredible try-scoring spree when he bulldozed over from dummy-half in the third minute, before fullback Nicho Hynes capped a razzle-dazzle passage of play in the fifth minute.

What followed was a Cameron Munster try off a Dale Finucane short ball in the 10th minute, before Finucane bashed over for a try of his own in the 13th minute and Nelson Asofa-Solomona crashed over less than three minutes later.

Fox League commentator Warren Smith was boggled at the scenes.

“They are toying with them!” Smith said.

“It is literally men against boys on the Sunshine Coast.”

Former Queensland five-eighth Ben Ikin described Melbourne’s start as “savage”.
